Artist Statement

Creating artwork has always been an escape from the real world to me. Putting my headphones in and starting a new piece is almost like a fresh start. My artwork, however, is not very deep or emotional. It usually expresses a typical view of social class or advertising products or programs. A lot of my pieces can be interpreted from more than one point of view, and are not very influential. I enjoy creating pieces that an outside viewer might have to think about to understand, but I do create straight forward artwork as well.
Describing myself as an artist now, I think I am still discovering who I am. I've tried many programs and art techniques and tend to create a wide variety. I lean towards mock advertisements and persuasive posters digitally. I feel most comfortable creating my artwork on the computer and have the most knowledge and skill with digital pieces. However, I enjoy painting and sketching as well. I'd like to gain more knowledge to expand that side of me. As far as videos go I enjoy making humorous short films. I enjoy making short films or commercial based videos. As I am developing as an artist I'd like to pursue my goals as making art for a living, and see where my work takes me.
